This is another of Ira’s ideas to boost business at the Sand & Spirit Sweat Lodge: signed posters from Godric, the lodge’s spiritual guru.
Despite the decrepit conditions at the lodge, Godric has developed a small cult following — seekers who look for meaning in Godric’s every word and action. But even though Godric himself believes half of what he tells his followers, sometimes sweat is just sweat, and a shaman is a sham.
EXCEPT when a sweat lodge happens to be built upon sacred Indian grounds with a portal to another dimension — a desert wasteland between life and death where evil people are imprisoned to wander forever, with no hope of escape. UNLESS someone happens to cross through this portal during a sweat ceremony.
In other words, the place where Broken Spirits begins.
We’re pleased to announce that the first album inspired by the movie Broken Spirits will soon be released.
“Live To Sweat” by Godric & the Broken Spirits will hit store shelves this summer, as a long-playing 33 1/3 RPM vinyl record in Vista Hi-Fidelity.
The 8-track tape version will be released shortly after the LP.
Featuring the hit singles “Yee-Ohm” and “Slapshot!”, this album is sure to have a permanent place on your turntable.
Nobody swings the stick like Godric. And backed by his hot 5-piece combo, the Broken Spirits, the 12 happening tracks on this album are far out crazy.

First day of shooting “pick-up” scenes went really well today.
Every movie has to re-shoot some scenes or shots after the initial wrap to fix technical glitches, camera or lighting issues, continuity mistakes in dialogue, wardrobe or props, or to adjust a performance based on things that were discovered later in the shooting schedule.
Due to proper planning and “shot listing” by the director and assistant director during principal photography, we’re very fortunate to have only one more scene to re-shoot (the sun set before we could finish it during the main shoot), and then we move on to the “2nd unit” photography of landscapes, cars driving, timelapses and other shots where the principal actors are not needed.

We’ve posted a scene from the actual movie online. Sweat lodge spiritual “guru” Godric and his business manager Ira discuss the aftermath of four young people disappearing into an alternate dimension during Godric’s sweat lodge ceremony. It’s not the first time this has happened. It’s a “must see” scene!

At some point in the production, it seems that every one of the lead actors in Broken Spirits gets dragged through the sand. This time it’s Greg’s turn, as his character Trey is pulled through the desert by his “lifeline.”
It may not look like much here, since movies are shot in little bits and pieces that by themselves don’t seem too exciting. But when it’s fully edited, with the music and special effects added, you’ll fly though the sand with him on an crazy trip!
Broken Spirits co-writer Joseph Medina paid a visit to the desert location of Broken Spirits over Memorial weekend and recorded some video of the actors preparing to shoot a scene. Due to the holiday weekend, we had a smaller crew on hand, but we still tackled some tough scenes.
The “little” movie Joseph envisioned months ago is now being made into a slightly “bigger” and very real movie. Thanks, Joseph!
A few weeks ago we were visited on set by blogger Mark Allen Jr. of The Daily Blabb. Yes the wind is blowing and knocking him around, but without the raging sandstorms that we’ve experienced on several occasions, we consider his visit to our location a rather “calm” day!
